I finally got this tutorial uploaded to Youtube without problems. YAY!
This two part tutorial will show you how to make a damn cute pair of ruffle butt underwear. (Or plain butt underwear if you’re not feeling ruffly. But ruffles are fun, so don’t neglect the ruffles.)
Thank you to rufflefabric.com for providing the ruffle fabric. Check out their site, it’s like a candy store for us fabric fiends!
Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel! I have a crap ton of tutorials on the way (including drafting your own custom tube dress pattern, no-sew hair bows, sewing and hemming knits without a serger, making homemade limoncello and vanilla extract, and more)!
And if you have any tutorial requests, leave me a comment!
This tutorial was filmed using a Creative Labs Vado HD Digital Video Camera, a Canon Rebel (for still shots), and edited in Sony Vegas Movie Studio.
Here are some frocks (AKA dresses) that are new to the land of Smarmy!

This is my Dark Alice dress in the fabric I have as a replacement for the original. It’s a super awesome stretch satin.

I took a vintage slip and made it a little more retro with some topstitching, lace, bows, and garter clips.

I’m moving in the not-too-distant future AND Halloween approaches, so I need to clear some inventory to make space! I’ve got some one of a kind Smarments listed on Ebay at rock bottom prices! Makes me nostalgic for the early days of SmarmyClothes!
I’m also selling some sewing machines, as the pile of sewing machines in my house must be thinned before the move. My Singer CE-200 embroidery / sewing machine combo is up on Ebay right now, so go check it out if you’re interested! It’s a great machine and the ONLY reason I’m selling it is because I have 8 machines and taking them all with me is really not an option. I know some crafty person out there will give it a good home!
It comes with lots of extras, like a boat load of thread, so you’ll be ready to embroider right out of the box.
Here’s my new tutorial for adding a collar to a t-shirt!

It’s fun to show the custom orders I’m working on, since they are usually one-of-a-kind and won’t be seen in the shop. So here are a few I’ve completed recently!
This one is a wedding dress based on a vintage design the client liked.
This was a custom plaid dress inspired by my Casting Shadows Everywhere dress.
And finally a custom t-shirt reconstruction with lots of corset lacing and grommet tape.
